An early Ot Danum steel axe, fixed to a rattan shaft with woven rattan strips, the wood handle carved with a simplistic aso dog motif,the piece ajoining the handle and shaft is a finly carved antler plug. Smooth and glossy patina from heavy use. There is a slight hairline crack on the rattan shaft as shown, but this piece is in solid and stable condition. Estimated age is early 19th Century.
